Bangalore, May 31 (PTI) The ruling BJP in Karnataka today ridiculed the opposition JD(S)' decision to boycott the legislature session demanding resignation of Assembly Speaker K G Bopaiah in view of the Supreme Court strictures against him while setting aside his order disqualifying 16 MLAs.
"If there is any Chief Minister who has misused the office of Speaker, the credit should go to H D Kumaraswamy and H D Deve Gowda family, who influenced the then Speaker Krishna to go slow on a petition seeking disqualification of a section of JD(S) MLAs in 2006," state unit BJP Spokesman Ayanur Manjunath told reporters here.
"Why did Krishna not pronounce his decision on a petition seeking disqualification of 36 MLAs, who as a group formed a coalition government with BJP?," he asked.
"The opposition members are not coming to the assembly, but only making allegations of corruption outside the legislature.
