Bangalore, May 28 (PTI) A local court today granted bail to Karnataka unit BJP president K S Eswarappa after he appeared before it in response to a non-bailable warrant issued against him.
Seventh Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Jaishankara granted bail to Eswarappa and adjourned to August 27 the hearing of the complaint filed against him for giving a Karnataka Bandh call.
An advocate had filed a private complaint against Eswarappa accusing him of being responsible for losses caused during the BJP bandh on January 22 after Karnataka Governor H R Bhardwaj granted sanction to prosecute Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa over alleged denotification of lands.
The court last month had issued the NBW against Eswarappa after he failed to appear before it.
Later speaking to reporters, Eswarappa said Yeddyurappa would restructure his ministry after the legislature session that begins from June two.
