Bantwal, May 24: The honey-bees have created a history in building a honey-comb on the branch of a large tree that is located besides the road at Maderigudde in B Kasba village under town municipality.
As the Pattanaje – Tulunadu traditional celebration is approaching in a few days; the honey-bees have built a honey-comb of massive size. It’s common to find honey-comb that is collectively built by a species of bees that is known in vernacular language as Peria and Kolche.
Meanwhile, the local varieties known as Todde have built just one honey-comb which conveys their unity. This species of honey-bees are generally perceived to build the honey-comb in the caves, but in a rare case they have built on a branch of a tree, informed agriculture department officer to town council member Rajesh Rodrigues and Philip Frank who happened to viewe the rare honey-comb.
