Bangalore, May 22 (PTI): Crime Branch sleuths busted a prostitution racket and arrested three girls, belonging to Delhi, Mumbai and Pune, from two hotels in the city, police said today.
The accused, Rajesh and Kumar alias Michael, who were allegedly involved in trafficking of girls from the above mentioned cities, are absconding, said the police.
The duo ran a Bangalore-specific website where they posted their cell phone numbers to invite potential clients, who were given a hotel name and room number and asked to pay Rs 10,000 to Rs 30,000 to the receptionist.
The Central Crime Branch raided a hotel on the upmarket Brigade Road and arrested a 22-year-old girl from Delhi, a 21-year-old from Pune, and a 37-year-old receptionist.
They also raided another hotel on the Sheshadripuram Main Road and arrested a 22-year-old girl from Andheri in Mumbai.
In this hotel, the prostitution racket was being run for eight days. It came to light during investigation that Rs 1.8 lakh earned from prostitution was deposited in Mumbai banks through a bank branch here.
