Bengaluru, Dec 11: Three men of Byndoor origin, who were running a bakery at Kundalahalli Gate in the capital city, were beaten black and blue by three hooligans. It has come to light that the three men were asked by the owner of a tea stall that is situated beside the bakery to assault the men as his business was suffering due to the bakery.
Naveen Kumar, Prajwal and Nitin of Byndoor origin are the victims. They were assaulted badly by Kartik, resident of Ashwathnagar, Salman, who works as aluminium fabricator and Kartik, manager of a private hotel at Marathhalli. The main accused and owner of tea stall Manjunath is absconding.
Manjunath, who owns the tea stall was having less customers as the bakery run by the victims was thronged by people. So he hatched a plot to drive the Byndoor origin men away with the help of accused by paying them money.
On Thursday night, the accused picked up fight in the bakery run by the victims and beat them with helmets, kicked them and also took gold chain weighing 18 grams that one of the bakery employee was wearing. They also broke the glass of showcase, drinking glasses and threw all food packets.
Entrepreneurs and businessmen of Dakshina Kannada origin held a protest in front of HAL police station, condemning the attack. It is said that KaRaVe president Praveen Kumar Shetty spoke with police officials and urged them to provide justice to the bakery employees.
Meanwhile, Byndoor MLA Sukumar Shetty has also urged police to take strict action against the accused. Police have assured of swift action and opening of rowdy sheet on the accused so that they have to report to police station every week for signing.
