Bantwal: Raita Sangha Resents Transfer of DC

Bantwal, May 21: Dakshina Kannada district unit of Karnataka Rajya Raita Sangha has held the decision of the government to transfer district deputy commissioner, Subodh Yadav, as foolish. The Sangha feels that unknown forces have worked for his transfer out of the district within seven months.

In a press statement, district working president of the Sangha, Ravikiran Punacha, said that Yadav was an efficient officer, who had tried to understand and study genuine problems of the farmers, and to solve them. “He has been transferred without any valid reasons. This will hinder the progress of Dakshina Kannada district,” he felt.

He recalled that Yadav had convened a meeting of officials of departments handling agricultural matters last month, lent an ear to the problems and experiences of the farmers, and assured to send a report to the government and make efforts to mitigate their problems. He said that a deputy commissioner, for properly understanding the functioning of all the departments in a district and to streamline the systems, needs at least three years at a single place.
