Bangalore: Complaint against Chris Gayle for Assaulting Journalists


Bangalore, May 20, DHNS : A complaint was lodged against Royal Challengers Bangalore batsman Chris Gayle and three of his bodyguards with the Ashok Nagar police on Thursday for allegedly assaulting two journalists at a shop on Brigade Road.

According to the police, Gayle had come to a music store on Thursday around 4 pm.  When two journalists of a TV news channel tried to take pictures of him shopping, his body guards warned them against it.

However, when the journalists persisted and tried to approach the batsman, the bodyguards allegedly pushed them. The journalists fell down.

Assaulted

In the complaint, the journalists alleged that Gayle’s body guards assaulted them and tried to damage their cameras.

No injuries reported

The police took them to a nearby hospital for treatment. It was found that they did not sustain any injury and their cameras were not damaged. They fell down when the body guards pushed them, said the police.
