Mangalore, May 19: Fr Andrew D’Souza, parish priest of Bless Joseph Vaz parish, Mudipu, here celebrated his silver jubilee of priesthood, during a Thanksgiving Mass held at St Roque church, Neerude, here on Thursday May 19. 

Fr Andrew concelebrated the Holy Mass along with many priests on the occasion.

Carmelite Fr George Santhumayor, superior of St Joseph’s Monastery, Bikarnakatte in his homily, emphasized on the role of clergies in building vibrant parish community.

Fr Andrew’s family members, well wishers and parishioners and Mudipu and Neerude parishes attended the Holy Mass. 

A simple felicitation programme was held after the Holy Mass at the parish hall.

Fr Andrew’s mother Eliza Cardoza, Neerude parish priest Fr Ronald D’Souza and Fr Robert D’Souza were present on the dais.

Fr Robert D’Souza congratulated Fr Andrew on behalf of the family. Fr Ronald D’Souza congratulated Fr Andrew on behalf of the Neerude parishioners. 

Fr Andrew D’Souza thanked all those who have helped in his priestly life and presented floral bouquet to his mother Eliza Cardoza. 

Neerude parish choir sang the congratulatory song, while Prem Kumar and group sang on behalf of the family.

Fr Ajit Rodrigues proposed the vote of thanks. Mudipu assistant parish priest Fr Vinod Lobo compered the programme.
