Puttur: Youth from Uppinangady Drowns at Tamil Nadu Falls

Puttur, May 19: A youth from Kemmar near Uppinangady in the taluk, and working in a concern at Bangalore, reportedly drowned during a visit to Hogenakal Falls in Tamil Nadu. The incident occurred when Nufal (21), son of Adam from Kemmar, was taking bath at the dam there on Monday. His body was recovered on Wednesday May 18.

Naufal, who worked in a shop in Koramangala, Bangalore, had started from Bangalore on a visit to tourism spot, Hogenakal, with six other friends, on Monday morning. On Monday afternoon, he was taking bath at the dam there, when he slipped accidentally and drowned.

Naufal, eldest among six children of his parents, had taken the responsibility of running the family. Immediately upon learning about his death, a number of his relatives left together for Hogenakal. His body is likely to be brought for funeral to his native place today.
