Bantwal: Children’s Fest ‘Makkala Utsav’ Begins in Vamadapadav

Bantwal, May 17: ‘Makkala Utsav’, a five-day children’s festival, organized by state Bala Bhavan Society, taluk women and child welfare department, and taluk Bala Bhavan committee, was inaugurated at Ganesh Mandir, Vamadapadav, near here, on Tuesday May 17.

State Bala Bhavan Society president Sulochana G K Bhat inaugurated the event here.

Speaking on the occasion, Bhat said that it’s everybody’s responsibility to identify and nurture the inherent talent among children. The state Bala Bhavan Society has been organizing special programmes across the state to work for the all round growth of children.

In his presidential address, Chennaittody gram panchayat president Navinchandra Shetty said that when children are introduced to various skills in their early age, they can think differently when they grow up.

Vamadapadav Vyavasaya Seva Sahakari Bank president Padmanabha Shetty Kundoli and entrepreneur Bhojaraj Shetty were the chief guests on the occasion.

Child welfare project officer Usman A, assistant project officers Subramanya and Sudha Joshi, district women and child welfare department superintendent Venkappa Bangera, district Bala Bhavan
co-ordinator Kushalappa Gowda, department supervisor Gayatri R Kambli, Roopakala, Gunavati, Neetha Kumari, Sudha K, Rohini, Kavitha, resource persons Gopal Anchan, and Mounesh Vishwakarma,
were present.

Forty-five students from various schools across the taluk are participating in the Makkala Utsav.
