CISCE Exams: Karnataka Students Shine with High percentage


Bangalore, May 18 (DHNS): Karnataka recorded excellent results in the Class X and XII examinations conducted by the Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE).The results announced on Tuesday showed that schools across the State recorded a stratospheric 99.97 pc for Class X (ICSE) and 98.31 pc for Class XII (ISC).

Particularly impressive was the fact that every single girl that appeared for Class X passed the examination. This year, 7,582 students of Class X and 1,010 students of Class XII appeared for the examinations across the State.

Across India, the pass perc­e­­ntage of students in Class X was 98.61, up by 0.3 per cent from last year. For Class XII, the pass percentage was up by 0.13 to 97.24. There were 57­,­487 candidates in Class XII wh­i­le 1,22,347 students took the Cl­ass X exam held in March.

Karnataka’s results were part of an impressive show put up by the southern region.
Statistics released by the council showed that the southern region recorded the best results among all regions — 99.72 per cent for Class X and 98.28 per cent for Class XII. Girls outperformed boys once again with better pass percentage in both Class X and Class XII.
