Mangaluru: St Agnes College celebrates NCC Day

Mangaluru, Nov 28: St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru celebrated 75th Anniversary of NCC, on November 26. Jyothi M, police sub inspector, Kadri East Police Station was the chief guest. Sr Dr M Venissa AC was the president and Sr Dr Vinora AC was the guest of honour. Jyothi in her address motivated the cadets by saying that NCC moulds individuals and makes them capable. It enhances their enthusiasm in choosing a career which can serve the nation. Sr Dr M Venissa AC in her presidential speech said that youth should involve in NCC and serve the nation with pride. Lt Gayathri welcomed the gathering. Rank giving ceremony was conducted and the chief guest conferred the ranks to the cadets.

The ranks were given as Senior under officer to Saniya Khan; ranks from Corporal to Lance Corporal to the other qualified Army cadets; Cadet Under Officer to Aparna Bharadwaj; ranks from Cdt Corporal to LFC to the other qualified Airwing cadets.

Cadets had participated in various competitions such as painting, throwball, badminton and Variety show on patriotism. The winners were awarded. Flg Offr Dr Hithakshi B expressed her words of gratitude. The programme came to end with singing of NCC song and National Anthem.
