Kasargod: Thieves Take Away Gold Ornaments worth Rs 7.85 lac

Kasargod, May 17: Unknown thieves, who gained entry into the house of Nizar, a businessman from Tayattotti near Deli here, succeeded in taking away valuables and ornaments worth around Rs 7.85 lac. The theft occurred on the night of Sunday May15.

The family members were on a visit the house of a relative in Kannur when the incident occurred. On return, they found the rear of the door having been broken open. The lost items include 45 sovereigns of gold ornaments, Rs 25,000 in cash, a Rado watch costing Rs 35,000 and some other valuables.

The police, who pressed sniffer dogs and finger print experts into service, have taken up investigation.
