Bangalore, May 17: In all probability, Karnataka Examination Authority will announce results of Common Entrance Test (CET) for engineering and medical courses this year, earlier than expected. The results, which were proposed to be announced by May 30, are likely to be advanced to May 23 or 25, sources revealed.
CET was conducted on April 27 and 28, for which, over 1.17 lac students appeared in centres spread all over the state. Sources in KEA said that the authority used to postpone results because of delayed declaration of results by CBSE and ICSE boards, as a sizeable number of these students too appear for the CET, and their ranking list has to be prepared based on their results.
After repeated requests to advance their results over the past some years, CBSE and ICSE Boards, it is learnt, have been gearing up to announce their results about a week ahead of their usual declaration dates. Counselling for the candidates is set to begin on June 2 as per the present schedule. There are chances of this date too being advanced, it is learnt.
