Mangalore: Ganja Worth Rs 20,000 Seized, Three Arrested

Mangalore, May 16:
The Kadri police on Monday arrested three persons and seized 680 grams of ganja worth Rs 20,000.
 
The arrested are Asif alias J D Asif (32), a resident of Bengre, Amir alias Amir Hussain (39), resident of Moodushedde and Babu (29), resident of Moodushedde.

There are already four cases against Asif, two against Amir and one against Babu (all ganja related cases) of which proceedings are going on in the court.
 
The arrested were selling ganja in an auto rickshaw (KA 19/ C 9096), in a suitcase containing packets worth Rs 50 each.
 
It is said that they were getting ganja from Uppala in Kerala and Kotekar.
 
Once the police arrested them, the customers of the trio were also traced through the numerous calls that were received on the arrested threesome's mobile phones. The police, under disguise, arranged a meeting place with the customers and then caught them. However, they were later released with petty cases registered against them.
 
The raid operation was led by SI Vinayak, with Narendra, Mohammed, Prakash and Veerabhadra forming the team.
