Udupi: Accident Disrupts Traffic at Santekatte Yet Again

Udupi, May 14: An accident that occurred at Santekatte here in the afternoon on Saturday May 14 yet again brought the traffic to a standstill.

A head-on collision of Maruti swift vehicle with truck resulted in serious shoulder injury to driver of the car and lso the impact left the front wheel dislodged. Further the car was dragged a few feet away.

People rushed to help the victim and succeeded to evacuate him from the shuttered windscreen and twisted metal. The injured has been taken to hospital in Manipal. Chinmaya, and Vasanth Udupa from Kemmannu along with Joy, Oliver, and Sheldon social workers helped the victims. With the arrival of the police, situation was brought to control.

According to eye witness it is difficult to access who is at fault because the road is become narrow and adding to the woes is a lot of recently felled trees which have been left abandoned. The NH 66 work is in progress and that there is no footpath has put the pedestrians' lives into danger.
