Mangaluru, Nov 14: The St Aloysius College Library has organized a BOOK FAIR from Used Books Factory, Chennai on November 14 and 15 at College Auditorium (Gelge Hall). The college principal Dr Praveen Martis SJ, inaugurated the book fair. The registrar, all block directors, faculty members, library staff, students and Tilak, who is the founder of the Used Books Factory, were present on the occasion.
Dr Praveen Martis SJ in his inaugural address said that, the reading habit will increase the knowledge and intelligence of the readers. The faculty members and the students can make the best use of this book fair. He also appreciated the young entrepreneur Tilak for his start-up and conducting the book fair. Udaya, chief librarian of the College compered the programme.
The book fair was open for staff, students and the parents of the St Aloysius institutions. The book fair has collections of fictions- thrillers, classics, horror, fantasy, romance, historical and non-fiction, self-help, Children’s books and more. Most of the books are best-selling, best reviewed and foreign authors. There is a good discount offer from 50 percent to 80 percent off on the collections and you can pick any three books @ ?299.00. The response was positive as many aspiring young readers including faculty were seen showing interest in some volumes.
