Kasargod, May 14: A crowd that barged into the regional office of CPM at Badoorpadavu within Puttige Panchayat near Perla in the district damaged furniture, and smashed window glasses on Friday May 13. The incident occurred immediately after counting was concluded at Kasargod government college, and result was announced.

The CPM regional committee has complained that a crowd that came from Kandal had damaged its office.

At around the same time, a gang beat up Raju (24) from Badrampalla, working as cleaner of a private bus that moves through Kumble and Puttige. Protesting against this incident, buses on this route suspended their trips thereafter.

Banners and flex boards set up for soliciting votes for BJP candidate, K Surendran, and CPM candidate, C H Kunhmabu, were reportedly torn by a gang. A Maruti Swift car belonging to K Srikant, general secretary of the district BJP, was damaged by unknown persons. The car had been parked near the government college in Vidyanagar here, where counting had taken place.
