Udupi, May 13: The newly-built ladies theatre block in memory of the late Martha Mamatha Attavar, wife of Padmasri Dr Manmohan Attavar will be inaugurated at CSI Lombard Memorial Hospital here on Saturday May 14 at 4.30 pm.
Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) former vice-chancellor Dr B M Hegde will be the chief guest for the occasion.
Padmasri Dr Manmohan Attavar, president of Indo American Hybrid Seeds India Private Limited and former CSI Bishop C L Furtado of Karnataka southern diocese will be the guests of honour.
CSI Lombard Memorial Hospital was founded by a Swiss lady to care for the mother and child in 1923. It’s popularly known as Mission Hospital and known for homeliness, caring and healing. The hospital is home away from home for the patients and professionals.
It has been a shelter for many patients in and outside India for various ailments. Christian missionaries indeed have played vital role in establishing good hospitals with utmost humility and caring the patients with a priority. One of those hospitals nurtured under the missionaries is CSI Lombard Memorial Hospital.
CSI Lombard Memorial Hospital deputy director Dr Rathish Johnson informed that 55,866 births have been recorded till now since its inception. The newly-built ladies theatre block is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities as memorial of the late Martha Mamatha Attavar.
