Mangaluru: Lourdes Central School organizes Social Science Week

Mangaluru, Nov 9: LCS Social Science Week was inaugurated on November 7. The programme began with the universal prayer and the prayer song sung by the school choir. The intentions was led by Shallen of class IXA. This was followed by the thought for the day by Amoura of class IXC. Fr Robert DSouza, the principal inaugurated the LCS Social Science Week by switching on the Ferris Wheel that depicted the theme – ‘The World Around Us’ with the pictures of rules for safety, places in our neighbourhood, clothes we wear, States of India, space exploration, settlements and resources.

The Ferris Wheel Model was made by the siblings Maria and Basil Jose Paul of class IXA. Vamshitha Shetty of class IXB briefed about the significance of LCS Social Science Week and aims and objectives of the Social Science Exhibition. The School Choir presented a special song on ‘Nature’. The students of classes VII, IX and X performed a skit titled ‘An Escapade in India.’ In connection with LCS Regale, Nidhi Sarah John of class IXC highlighted the inspiring reasons why you should showcase your talents.

The principal Fr Robert DSouza wished the very best to the students and Social Science teachers, and congratulated them for their hard work. On the whole, the programme highlighted the role of Social Science in today’s society. The programme ended with the School Anthem. Vraddhi Jain of class IXB compered the programme.
