Mangaluru, Nov 1: The Rajyotsava Day is the state festival of Karnataka and is observed on November 1 every year. The day is celebrated to commemorate the birthday of Karnataka as the state was formed on this day.
Kannada Rajyotsava was celebrated in Carmel School with gusto, joy, and vigor on November 1 by the students of class V.
The celebration began with the invoking of God's blessings through a prayer service. Mable introduced Marcel Mathew D’Souza, the chief guest, and extended a hospitable welcome to the gathering. In his thought-provoking address, Marcel highlighted on formation of the state of Karnataka, gave the glimpses of Kannada literature, Kannada language, importance of reading newspaper in Kannada would improve their vocabulary in Kannada.
Abhinav spoke on the birth of the present state of Karnataka and the advocates who made it happen. The skit entitled ‘Jai Karnataka’ and a spectacular dance drama depicting the richness of the Karnataka state were enacted by the students.
Sheryl Deena and Astha compered the program and Atuf proposed the vote of thanks. The celebration truly captured the spirit of the day.
