Mangalore, May 9:  Hindu Janajagruti Samiti staged a protest in front of deputy commissioners office on Monday May 9 against the introduction of ‘Hindu Religious Institutions and Charitable Endowment Act 2011’ by the State Government.

The members said that the  political interference in Hindu Temples and religious affairs will not be appreciated.

The protesters alleged that the bill would be harmfull to the Hindu community as a whole. It shows the anti- Hindu attitude of the Government and attempt to divide the various Hindu communities.

If the bill is approved, the devotees would not involve themselves in the temple activities which would seriously affect the welfare of the temple, they complained. Over  100 people took part in the protest.
