Beltangady, May 9: Addressing a religious meeting organized on the occasion of the re-consecration and Brahmakalashotsava of Lord Sooryanarayana Temple at Naravi in the taluk on Sunday May 8, Karnataka Chief Minister, B S Yeddyurappa, announced that the government will release grant of one crore rupees for the temple towards various works including construction of guest house. He revealed that this grant will be made available through tourism department.
He hailed the Mutts and temples for contributing immensely and constructively towards building of the nation and developing righteousness, culture, simple way of living and family traditions among the people.
Later, during his visit to Nellikar in Mangalore taluk, he promised to provide Rs 25 lac towards development works of Nellikar Basadi. He was speaking after visiting Nellikar for the first time on Sunday evening. He also collected details about the history of this 700-year-old Basadi from the concerned.
