Mangalore, Apr 26: The climate remained cloudy for most part of Monday April 25 in the twin districts of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi. While strong wind was witnessed in most places in the evening, which was coupled with occasional lightning, rainfall was experienced only in some places.

A major part of Beltangady taluk received rain coupled with thunder and lightning on Monday evening. A number of places in Kundapur, Udupi and Karkala taluks of Udupi district too experienced some rain on Monday.

Trees which fell across the road in Sulkeri and Savya of Beltangady taluk blocked traffic for some time. Power supply got severed. About 600 tiles of a house and cattle shed owned by Shankar Kotian in Henagabettu of Daregudde village near Moodbidri flew away due to strong wind. About 15 sheets covering the roof of Kadya Poojary’s home at Arantottu in Panapila village too were blown away by the wind.
