Mangalore, Apr 26: As many as 200 devotees from in around the city paid homage to spiritual guru Sai Baba who passed away on Sunday April 24.
At a public meeting to condole the demise of Sai Baba, organized by Kalkura Prathistana at Hotel Woodland on Monday April 25, Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, president of DK unit of Kannada Sahitya Parishad said that Sai Baba had provided an international platform for Indian culture by promoting art and artistes of this land.
Deputy speaker Yogish Bhat, Dr Madhavi Bhandary, K C Naik, Harikrishna Punaroor, Kajai Eshwar Bhat, A B Hosamani, Vijayalaxmi Shetty, Premalatha Achar, M G Hegde and Raghunath Shet among others were present.
Songs and flute music were played on the occasion. A book exhibition on Sai Baba was also organized. Manjunath Shetty compered the programme. Prof G K Bhat Seraje delivered the vote of thanks. Umesh Shetty and Janardhan Hande were the coordinators.
