Mumbai, Apr 25 (PTI) A young woman's body, bundled in a bag, was found at the busy Churchgate railway station in south Mumbai today, railway police said.
The woman -- aged between 20 to 25 years, was suspected to have been strangulated, police said, adding that the body did not appear to be decomposed pointing to the fact that the woman might have been killed just a few hours before.
According to the Government Railway Police, a bag consisting clothes was found abandoned on platform number 3 of Churchgate station at 6.30 this morning. It was suspected to have been dumped from luggage compartment of one of the three suburban trains which had arrived then.
As it lay abandoned, police were informed at around 7.30 am who opened it to find the body.
As there were bruises on her neck and back, police suspect she was strangulated.
