Puttur, Apr 24: Minister for power Shobha Karandlaje said that the government has sanctioned Rs 4.5 crore to provide five feeders of 11-kV capacity in the 33/11-kV sub station in 35 cents of land donated to Mescom by the Campco Limited. Of the five feeders, two will be used exclusively for the Campco, while the others will be used to supply power to Puttur town and surroundings.

She was speaking after laying foundation for a 300 metric tonne capacity warehouse at the Campco factory premises. Minister also said that the company was a model for many establishments on how to use power, efficiently.

Power consumption in the chocolate manufacturing unit of Campco Limited here has reduced from existing 375 units to 100 units per day with the installation of new vapour absorption machine (VAM) installed spending nearly Rs 80 lakh.

President of Campco Konkodi Padmanabha was also present.
