Puttur, Apr 23: Sheshadri, working as village accountant in Bajattoor village in the taluk, has been transferred to Perabe village. He has been accused of showing disrespect to MLA, Mallika Prasad.

Local MLA, Mallika Prasad, had visited Bajattoor village two days ago, to participate in a number of programmes. During her visit to the gram panchayat office, the village accountant reportedly did not show the courtesy of even exchanging pleasantries with her. The MLA had personally complained to the assistant commissioner about the arrogant behaviour of the village accountant.

Assistant commissioner, Dr Harish umar, said that the government servants have to follow etiquette while dealing with people’s representatives and to give them due respect. He said that failure to do so exposes the officials concerned to disciplinary action. Behaving respectfully with the concerned during duty hours is a must for government employees, and those who violate the conduct rules can be acted against under the civil service rules, he clarified.

If the government servants do not give respect to the political leaders no problem, but give due respect to the common people, without corruption, who wander from pillar to post for the job done !!

What about Legislators, showing disrespect to the voters by being corrupt. Can they be disciplined as well, or can we just trasfer them to the Arabian sea??
