Lt Col Vishrant Nanjappa Loses Life in Sikkim Helicopter Crash

Madikeri, Apr 23: Lt Col Vishrant Nanjappa (34), son of Chaureera Nanaiah from Hoddoor near Moornadu village in the district, lost his life in a helicopter tragedy that occurred on Wednesday April 20 on Indo-China border in Sikkim. Vishrant, who had served for 13 years as pilot, was on defence duty when the crash occurred.

Vishrant had married Nayana from Halugunda village in Virajpet taluk of the district about 30 months back. He is survived by parents, wife, and an eighteen month old daughter. Nayana works as manager in Kannametal India, Bangalore.

The colonel, who was recently promoted as commanding officer, was about to be posted to Leh in Jammu and Kashmir. It is said that he was planning to visit his wife and daughter living in Bangalore, before taking over the new post. His family had settled down in BTM Layout Bangalore some years ago. Vishrant’s father, Nanaiah, had retired as the deputy general manager of Vijaya Bank.

    You and my Younger brother were too good friends and both of you cheated us and but not each other.

    It was so heart whelming to see Mrs nayana nanjappa with a little girl in her hand and a whole life ahead of her. It was such a proud moment for all of us present at the funeral today , to witness the guard of honour and the police and military respects paid to the warrior 'Mr vishrant nanjappa' . My heart goes out for the family of the deceased. My his brave soul rest in peace . Hats of to you Sir!

    Every Soldier is in someway, A Son,
    A Brother, A Son-in-law, A cousine, A Friend,A Native to each and every women in India. He will b Husband to only one female. I regret and deeply mourn that, I have lost my son. May god give rest to this great soul. I concern a lot to Mrs.Nanjappa, who is very young. Oh. god no words. Only a request, please give rebirth to my son. He is Indis pride. We are unable to control our tears.
