Morning Race

Morning Race

I wake up each morning,
To the ring of my alarm.
So religiously set last night,
While happily going off to bed.

"Snooze a little bit dear", I say to my clock,
"My eyes still need more time to see day light".
Off I go again into deep slumber,
Only to be woken up by divine power.
Oh, how I jump off the bed,
Like an earthquake that has just struck the corner.

One minute to complete bathroom show, shave and shampoo,
In a hurry I remember God to bless my day.
No time for breakfast,
Off I go to my car in a hap hazard way.
Zoom I drive, as if chased by mad barking hounds.

What a relief to reach my desk well on time,
Before boss can ask to bring him the file.
Oh, it strikes me now, that I left it at the entrance yesterday,
When I entered my home sweet home from where I began my morning race.

Lovely Susan, Reminds me of the poem we studied in school by William Henry Davis. What is this life if, full of care, We have no time to stand and stare.... Man tends to take like easy. That is a normal of the day. Young or old there is this anticipation of taking things easy and suddenly time slips and anxiety builds up to fill in the loss space. Great poem. All the best. Celine.
