The beautiful word in the dictionary is ‘YOU’ which is as beautiful as ‘you are in this world’. You are your companion, mentor, therapist, best friend, forever love. When i say all this, do I mean you have to be selfish? No, what I mean is – ‘YOU are your priority’.
You would have seen the costumed characters who greet kids wearing furry suits during festive seasons. They portray the character, no matter what is going on inside them. The happy character in the costume spreads happiness, the person inside the costume may not be truly happy with it. Likewise, don’t put on a costume/mask and pretend to be happy and smiling. You have to be happy from within only then you can see happiness around you.
Are you wondering why I am talking about happiness when it is all about you? Yes, the question itself holds the answer-it is all about you.
You have to feel happy about yourself. Happiness makes you enthusiastic; enthusiasm builds confidence and confidence is the key to life. Nobody is you. You are unique, special, powerful and amazing inside out, that’s your power. The moment you feel the power, you can conquer anything. Life is a roller-coaster ride. It is sometimes absolutely okay, to NOT be okay. No matter what’s happening in your life, you have to feel confident and powerful.
Ways to feel confident and powerful:
1] Diminish the doubt: Self-doubt stops you; it makes you think less and worry more. Fear becomes your new friend if you are doubtful. So, reduce questioning yourself about your skills. Replace self-doubt with self-belief. Be your best companion throughout the journey of life.
2] Perfection is not the goal: Nobody is perfect. Anything other than perfect is not a failure. It is alright to have flaws, just embrace them. Focus on the progress; mentor yourself towards excellence than perfection.
3] Abandon underestimating yourself: By underestimating, you will be overloading yourself with negative thoughts. This will impact on your abilities and it will corner your capabilities. Set achievable goals and consider what you can control within yourself. Never forget that you are your first therapist.
4] Less complaining: End complaining about people, situation, things etc., Life is not a scripted show, it is uncertain. Anything can come up any moment. Be prepared to rely on yourself, be your own best friend daily.
5] Practice self-compassion: Self-care is important. Being kind to yourself is even more important. You have to be understanding when you fail, feel insufficient and suffer. Accept the way it is. Do not validate it more. It is all about time and it changes. Indulge yourself in the activities that you love; be it-dance, music, exercise, painting, cycling, cooking etc., Love yourself even at your worst, only then you can appreciate yourself at the best.
To conclude with, manifest what you want and witness how magically, harmoniously it will turn around to be true. Practice gratitude. Strive to bring out the best in you. It should always be ‘YOU yesterday versus YOU today’. And remember, somebody can offer you a cup of tea/coffee, nothing more than that. Life is nothing without ‘YOU’. Let that ‘YOU’ be irreplaceable.
Below is one short poem of mine which I want to share with you all:
‘You are important as much as the air we breathe.
You are important as much as the water we drink.
You are important as much as the matchstick to light an oil lamp.
You are important as much as the food we eat.
You are important as much as the sunshine for flowers.
‘You’ are important as much as the elements of the universe.
So, in the world where ‘WE’ exist, know, understand, prioritize and value YOURSELF better’
I wish your life is filled with loads of power, confidence and smiles.
Keep shining and keep smiling.
