Hope & Trust Makes All Things Work

October 13, 2023

Life is like a game. It throws several challenges and every challenge that we face in our life deals with unexpected twists and turns. That is very common in everyone’s life. Sometimes, we lose hope and our trust breaks. Oh wait! These words 'Hope' and 'Trust' look quite simple and easy to use in our conversations, but it's very hard to find the same in real life. In social life, we face emotional pain due to past incidents. And now, this is the right time to get back stronger and step ahead towards the goal. We often use these words in our daily conversations, don’t we? But we use it without focusing much on the true meaning of the same. Yes, it is said that everyone should have a goal in their life. But simply having a goal isn’t enough. To achieve them, you should have hope and trust in what you do.

Hope is not an expectation; it is a belief or the trust that things will be better in the coming days. We often use the word hope, like, hope you are doing well, hope for the best and so on. Each and every day, we live in hope. We see hope in every little thing. It is a force that keeps us moving forward even on a tough path. In addition to hope, trust is also an essential tool. Trust simply builds confidence about something or someone and we make decisions in life accordingly.

Hope always helps us to stay motivated. Consider a person suffering from a disease. He takes the medicine as prescribed by the doctor with the hope of getting rid of the disease. Hope is considered to be a particularly powerful protector. A person’s hope, even when facing an illness, can lead him to find some kind of comfort and strength. This happens in our day-to-day life as well. As soon as we wake up from bed, we all hope for a good start and at night before we go to bed, we pray and hope for a good sleep. That is how we lead our life with a bunch of hopes.

The other day, I came across those who were begging on the streets. I saw some children playing on the footpath. Suddenly, a thought came to my mind. Even though they do not have a proper shelter to stay in or afford a healthy life, they still live in the light of hope that someone will lend them a helping hand and bring them from the place of darkness. When we come across all these experiences, don’t we think hope is much needed in our life wherever we go?

When it comes to trust, it is like a glue that sticks to any bond or relationship. No one can teach you how to trust something or someone. That happens with experiences we face in our life. Gaining trust is more important than building trust. I do remember Dalai Lama's quote which says ‘To earn trust, money and power aren’t enough, you have to show some concern for others. You can’t buy it in a supermarket’. It is absolutely true. Trust is not a factor that will be developed later. The concept of trust can be seen at the infant stage as well, where a baby develops trust when its mother tries to give comfort and affection whenever it needs. By doing so, the baby feels safe and simultaneously develops trust. In the same way, even in the society, having trust in each other will make you feel that you are loved and valued by everyone.

Just remember your tough times and the way you came out of it, fighting with hope and trusting the process. You'll definitely get goosebumps, right? It is very easy to have hope when things go well in your life, but it's hard when your life isn’t on an easy path. Hope and trust are two different things, which helps us to stay connected in life. Knowingly or unknowingly, these words have the strength to put a smile on one's face, and also have a magical power of changing a weaker person into a stronger one. No matter how often you feel disappointed or fail at doing things, building hope can change your life. Hope for the best and the good things will come to you at the right time.

It is true, once the trust is broken, it is hard to gain. But, trusting yourself can build your confidence. Always try to be honest with yourself in situations that might not be the best. You are the only one who knows yourself better than anyone else. No matter what others say, if you find what you are doing is right, then move forward. If you don’t trust yourself, then even if others are honest to you, you won’t get enough confidence to trust them. Do you wish to have friendship or a relationship without trust? Nobody wants to. Love is a beautiful emotion. But trust is the greatest thing and it is beyond love. A person who loves you need not express his love, but if he keeps his trust in you, then that’s magical. Trust can make some bonds stronger, but remember, taking advantage of the same can also break those bonds as well. But it is always the best feeling to have someone whom you trust, with whom you can share all your happiness and pain. At the time, when your trust breaks, you might feel that you can never trust anyone truly again and might develop the fear of losing someone. But at the end of the day, we are social beings, we depend on each other, so regaining trust is also very important to be loved by the people whom you love.

Words aren’t enough to speak about hope and trust. Well, what I would like to say is, no matter where life takes you, never lose hope and trust in yourself. At the end of the day, it's you and your life, so your decisions matter a lot. As I said, no one can trust you better than yourself. By this I would like to wish everyone a better life with lots of blessings.
