Inner Child

Inner Child
As a child, we always thought
life is perfect once we grow-up.
Least did we know, as the years add-up
the world had expectations for us to live-up.
Life is indeed a roller-coaster ride
with glorious high’s and unexpected low’s
a bouquet of flowers with a pinch of thorns.
And yet as a child we yearn to grow-up
To be in control and to rise-up.

Every grown-up heart desire’s to be a child again,
to be free of expectation and enjoy life again.
We may grow-up, but that little child resides in our heart
bringing about joy, fun and frolic as a part.
Life wouldn’t be easy
without that little child in our heart.
Even though we grew-up,
We are still a child by heart!

Good. Even at the end of one's life, one has to be childlike to gain heaven as Holy Scripture says so... "And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven."
