Bantwal, Apr 22: The ‘Nagamandalotsav’ in the ‘Nagabana’ owned by MLA Ramanath Rai at Kallige here, began on Thursday April 22.
A motorcade carrying offerings of vegetables and fruits arrived at Rakteshwari Temple, B C Road, where ‘puja’ was held and this then reached the Nagabana at Kallige.
Puppet dancers, women holding vessels filled with holy water, and musicians accompanied by a band added flavour to the procession.
Rajya Sabha member Oscar Fernandes, MLA B Ramanath Rai and wife Dhanabhagya, zilla panchayat member Chandraprakash Shetty, taluk panchayat members Padmashekar Jain and A C Bhandary, Rajashekar Rai, Dr Satish Rai, Chennaveni Dr Mohandas Shetty and others were present on the occasion.
Various religious programmes will be held at Kallige on Friday April 23 followed by Nagamandalotsav at 6.30 pm.
