Bangalore, Apr 19: Kashi Vishvanath Charitable Trust ®, Hosakote, Bangalore rural, announced that the ‘Jnana Saraswati Award’ will be conferred on Mumbai’s renowned ‘Vaastu’ expert Pandit Navinchandra Sanil, who is a Mangalorean.
‘Vaastu Marthanda’ Pandit Navinchandra Sanil will be conferred the award at Nayana Ranga Mandir of Kannada Bhavan, J C Road, on Sunday May 8.
Maharashtra state special executive officer Morla Ratnakar Shetty will preside over the programme. Mumbai Lions Club of Vasai vice-president Samaj Ratna Shankar K T will inaugurate the event.
Former union minister and Karnataka MLC M V Rajashekar will present the Award to Pandit Navinchandra Sanil on the occasion, stated a press release issued by Trust director Dr H Somashekar.
The programme will be held in association with Tumkur DC Dr C Somashekar, Divyasagar Education Trust of Mumbai, Manohar Tonse, Abu Dhabi, B R Mallikarjuna, Dubai, and Bangalore rural Kannada and culture department.
“Bharatanatyam will be staged by the artistes of Jnanashree Bharatanatyam Institute and Pratiksha Poojary, Mumbai, and a dance recital and cultural programmes by Rajarajeshwari Nrutya Kala Mandir, Tumkur, will also be staged on the occasion,” informed dance director Dr Prabha Rao.
About Pandit Navinchandra R Sanil:
He is a social activist of Mumbai. Pandit Sanil is the son of the late Rama B Sanil and Gulabi, residents of Bada Yermal in Udupi district. He had served as a special executive magistrate in the Maharashtra government. He serves as president of Vidhyadayini Sabha, a well-known educational institution in Mumbai. He was influenced by his mother’s knowledge of ancient scriptures to lead a disciplined and spiritual living. Pandit Sanil lives along with his mother and family at Lamington Road in central Mumbai.
