Udupi: Philanthropist, Businessman, Sadanand Madi, Passes Away

Udupi, Apr 18: S Sadanand Madi (90), a successful entrepreneur from Bangalore and a senior member of Udupi Shivalli Brahmin community and of Sooralu lineage, breathed his last on Saturday April 16 at his residence in Bangalore. He is survived by wife, two sons, and a daughter.

He had worked as the founder director of the Pejawar Mutt’s Vidyapeetha in Bangalore, in addition to serving several other organizations in different capacities. He was a leading guide in religious, social, and cooperative sector. He had been a generous donor for worthy causes. He had renovated Sooralu Sri Shastaneshwara temple at his cost. Various religious centres and organizations received his assistance. He was a senior member of the group actively involved with the administration of the eight Mutts here.

Swamijis of Pejavar, Palimar, and Shirur Mutts, higher education minister, Dr V S Acharya, Dr Veerendra Heggade, Harikrishna Punaroor, Dakshina Kannada District Kannada Sahitya Parishat president, Pradip Kumar Kalkura, and a number of other dignitaries have offered condolences to the bereaved family.
