Mumbai, Apr 17: The Bombay South Kanara Brahmin Association (BSKBA) and metro’s renowned women’s Yakshagana troupe jointly organized a felicitation programme for Bhagavat Mohan Baipadittaya, well-known instrumental musician at Gokul auditorium, Sion (East), on Saturday April 16.
BSKBA president Suresh S Rao Kateel presided over the simple function held on Saturday evening.
Hotelier Ravi Shetty Nasik was the chief guest on the occasion.
Jerimeri Uma Maheshwari temple chief priest Vedamurti S N Udupa, lawyer Gunakar Shetty, Yakshagana Bhagavat Sheni Shyam Bhat and Kalattoor Vishvanath Shetty were the guests of honour.
Yakshagana play ‘Mahishamardini’ was staged by the artistes of the women’s troupe directed by lawyer and talented Yakshagana artiste Geetha L Bhat.
BSKBA honorary secretary Anantakrishna P K Poti and H B L Rao felicitated Jayaprakash Nidwannaya, lawyer R G Shetty, and S R Bala Rao on the same occasion.
Sahana A Poti and group rendered the prayers. Astrologer and organizer R L Bhat compered the programme. Chandravati Rao proposed the vote of thanks.
