Mumbai, Apr 17 (PTI) The Bombay High Court has directed the city police not to take any coercive action against top offices of India Info Line Limited in a case of cheating, if police are going to file a chargesheet in the lower court.
"The police are directed to file its report. If the report is in the form of a chargesheet, police will not take coercive action against the accused. The accused will be given one week's notice before filing of the chargesheet so that they may seek appropriate relief," Justice J H Bhatia ordered last week.
An FIR was lodged against India Info Line's chairman Nirmal Jain and director Mukesh Kumar Singh in September 2009 for allegedly cheating Ensemble Infrastructure of Rs four crore.
India Info Line approached the High Court seeking quashing of FIR. City police last week informed the court that investigation was over.
