New Delhi, April 11 (IANS) Human Resource Development Minister Kapil Sibal Monday said he would sit with reformer Anna Hazare to draft a strong anti-corruption Lokpal Bill and said he had been misquoted on its effectiveness.
"We want to draft a strong bill to tackle corruption in any sector where it is rampant… I will sit together with Anna Hazare to draft a comprehensive bill so that we achieve our goals," Sibal told reporters here.
Hazare had Sunday slammed Sibal for reportedly saying the Lokpal Bill will not eradicate corruption from India. He advised Sibal to resign from the committee that has been formed to draft a stronger anti-corruption law if he had no faith in the proposed Lokpal.
Sibal, however, claimed he had been misquoted.
