Kundapur: Scorpio Hits Two-wheeler – Rider Killed

Kundapur, Apr 11: After a Scorpio vehicle hit a motor bike on national highway 17 opposite Mookambika Timber in Kirimanjeshwar near Byndoor in the taluk on Sunday April 10, the motor bike rider was killed on the spot. The pillion rider survived with injuries.

Purushottam Kharvi (27) from Uppunda village was going towards Maravante in his motor bike, along with his friend, Nagaraj Kharvi (27), when a Scorpio vehicle, which was trying to overtake a bus, hit their motor bike. The front portion of the motor bike got badly mangled, and both of them were thrown away due to the impact. Purushottam died while being taken to a hospital, while Nagaraj Kharvi is being treated in a private hospital here. He is said to be out of danger now.

A case of negligent driving was registered against the driver of the vehicle in the police station.
