Kasargod, Apr 9: A youth was arrested on Thursday April 7, on the allegation that he tried to rape a college girl, who was travelling in a train bound for Mangalore.

Kuttiparambu Abdul Rahman (26), an Arabic MA student of Kerala University and native of Malappuram Arikkot Keelparambu Choyakkat, was arrested on a complaint filed by the victim. The medical student from Vadagara, who studies in a medical college, said that she was sleeping in the train when the youth tried to rape her. As she raised an alarm, other passengers woke up, and handed the youth to the railway police.

The railway police, who arrested the youth, registered an attempt to rape case against him.
