Beltangady, Apr 9: A youth named Rajesh (25), son of Kotyappa Poojary from Kashipatna Kojambe here, committed suicide on Friday April 8. Reportedly, he was frustrated at the spurning of his marriage offer by a girl whom he loved.
He had left home on April 5, telling the family members that he would be hunting for a job in Mangalore. He was not to be seen thereafter. On Friday afternoon, his body was found near his home. He ended his life by consuming poison, and a case in this connection was registered in the local police station.
In his complaint registered in Venur police station, Vijay Salian, brother of Rajesh, said that his elder brother committed suicide as his love was not reciprocated by the girl he wanted to marry.
