M'lore: NSS Unit of Father Muller College Holds Health Education Programme

Mangalore, Apr 7: A health education propgramme was organized by the NSS unit of Father Muller College of Nursing (FMCON) volunteers on the occasion of World Health Day on the theme “Antimicrobial resistance: no action today, no cure tomorrow”.


The programme began at 9.30am at the OPD premises of Father Muller Medical College Hospital (FMMCH) premises. It started with the prayer song ‘Gatha prabhu tera naam’by the NSS volunteers, followed by a welcome speech by Ms Caroline Noronha, the significance of the day was shared by Dr Sanjeev Rai, CMS of the FMMCH, were Dr shared his experience being the practitioner with the audience.

Followed by the ‘puppet show’ on the theme was done by the volunteers, after the show there was a power point presentation in which causes and prevention of antimicrobial resistance was discussed by Beena.

Fr Richard Coelho, administrator of FMMCH, Fr Denis D’Sa, administrator FMCON, CMS Dr Sanjeev Rai, Sr Winnifred D’Souza, principal, FMSON, NSS programme officers  Irene Alvares,  Jasmine Sarita Vas and Anish Thomas were present on the occasion and also guided the NSS volunteers for the same. At the end Appanna Varghese proposed the vote of thanks. Dinusha compered the programme.
