Gulbarga, Apr 7: After some miscreants pulled the chain of Falaknuma Express near the railway gate of Shahabad in the district on Wednesday April 6, three members of a family lost their lives. The family members, who felt that it was their destination station, were getting down from the train, when a speeding train on the neighbouring track crushed them.

The deceased have been identified as Sarubai Dattu Chauhan (40), Saraswati Baliram Cahuhan (35), and Bablu Dattu Chauhan (3), all from Maharashtra. Baliram Chauhan, husband of Saraswati, who was injured in the incident, is out of danger.

The train was stopped by some miscreants by pulling its chain. All nine members of a family felt that it was Shahabad railway station. When they were alighting, Holiday Express Train moving to Gulbarga came on the next track, and crushed three of the family. Five children, and a small child in the family, survived.

The family was arriving at Shahabad to take part in the Ramanadevi annual festival.
