Mangaluru / Udupi, Aug 3: Dakshina Kannada on Wednesday August 3, reported fourteen new coronavirus cases while 12 cases were registered in Udupi.

The total number of positive cases in the Dakshina Kannada district has risen to 1,36,279 out of which 67 are currently active. As many as 20 patients were discharged on August 3.

No deaths were reported on August 3. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,854.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authorities.

Positivity rate for the day stood at 1.72 percent.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,05,880 as fine in 96,212 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

12 coronavirus cases were reported on August 3. The total active Covid cases are 58.

A total of 10,89,973 people have received the first dose of vaccination and 10,82,741 have received both doses and 1,80,885 people have received booster doses.

Udupi reported seven cases, Kundapura added four and Karkala one.
