Puttur: Scrap-Yard in City Gutted in Fire; Loss Estimated to be Nearly Rs 10 Lac

Puttur, Mar 31: A scrap-yard that was located in Padil, here was gutted in a fire on Wednesday March 30 afternoon.

The scrap-yard was owned by a certain Abdul Razak, son of Baduva Kunhi Haji, residing at Padil, here, which was gutted in a fire on Wednesday afternoon.

The stocks of different varieties of scraps including plastic, paper, waste-clothes etc was gutted in the fire, while the loss was estimated to be nearly Rs 10 lac.

The fire brigade personnel arrived at the site and took many hours to extinguish the fire that was threatened to spread to nearby house owned by the same scrap dealer.

Town police personnel provided security at the location.
