Mangaluru, Jul 20: "the Coastal Development Authority has reserved Rs 35 crore for 207 development works in the year 2022-23 in three coastal districts,'' said Karnataka Coastal Development Authority chairman Mattaru Rathnakar Hegde.
He was addressing a press meet at his office here on Wednesday July 20.
“In the year 2021-22, the authority has taken up 229 works, out of which 151 works are completed and 78 works are in progress.
“The authority has reserved Rs one crore for a hanging bridge on Shambhavi river in Mulki-Moodbidri constituency. Rs one crore has been reserved for a hanging bridge in Thenginagunddi, Alve Kodi in Bhatkal. Rs 60 lac are reserved for a hanging bridge in Bettampady in Puttur. Rs 30 lac is reserved for a hanging bridge on Gowri river in Palthady gram panchayat in Puttur. Rs one crore is reserved for the development of Parashuram theme park in Bailoor at Karkala,” he said.
He also said that the authority has reserved Rs 30 lac for the construction of an open theater related to Tulu Bhavan in Urwa store.
"Also, grants have been reserved for the development of roads and bus shelters," he added.
He further said that Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana will be effectively implemented by the authority. “To check the quality of sea water, the authority will also hold a survey in the coming days,” he said.
