Puttur, Mar 28: A youth, who had entered River Netravati on Sunday March 27, drowned and lost his life. The incident occurred at Nekkilady near Uppinangady.
Nissar (26) from Kasargod, who had come on a visit to a relative’s house in Gadiyara village near Uppinangady, had played cricket with the local youth for some time on Sunday. He then ventured into the river along with a few of his friends. Reportedly, he drowned because of strong undercurrent of the river.
A case was registered in Uppinangady police station in this connection.
