Mangalore: Burkha Clad Thieves Posing as Muslim Women Arrested

Mangalore, Mar 27: Kavoor police on Saturday March 26 arrested two Tamil Nadu origin women, who were into stealing valuables from people at the bus stands, posing as Muslim ladies cladded with burkha. 

The arrested have been identified as Kavita (22) and Lakshmi (27). The duo belonged to the gang of thieves operating at areas filled with people. The two were arrested while trying to steal a lady's purse near Ullalsnagar, Kavoor here.

Soon the locals informed the police and they were taken into custody while trying to escape. On investigation, the truth came into light that they were not Muslim women but only tried to protect them as they stole valuables from people.

The duo arrested by sub-inspector Gopal Kudupady has registered the case and also produced them before the court.

    Dear Brother Hariprasad hegde,past 3,4 months there are some cases filed in police that theives stolen idols from the temple in DK.Do you mean to say that keeping idol inside temple is the problem.We should eliminate the anti social elements.I hope now you understood the comments of Adil Khan

    Well, Aadil Khan, Kasaragod/Saudi Arabia i guess the govt should banned Burkhas or the Muslim womens should stop wearing Burkhas, am i right.

    This is only the tip of the iceberg. Many take advantage of Burkha for various purposes. That include robbery, luring and prostituion. The name tag, she is or they are Muslim women. Police personnel should keep a check on these anti social elemets for cleansing the society.
