Mangalore, Mar 26: The convocation of the V batch of theology for the laity and religious was held at St Joseph’s Seminary in Jeppu on Saturday March 26.
Dean of theology, Fr Ronald Serrao welcomed the gathering. George A Borromeo shared his experience of his theological studies.
Fr Joseph Martis, rector of St Joseph’s Seminary presided over the function and also honoured the students. In his address, he said that the purpose of the study of theology primarily is to equip the laity and religious women the sound knowledge of religious truths by the church. Since the church belongs to all, it is but proper that every member must have the basic idea of what the church is and what it teaches.
The ceremony came to an end with vote of thanks followed by refreshments.
